Week Nine Recap

This week was full of ministry, teamwork, and a lot of meaningful moments. Going into the week we had plans for library projects, school renovations, VBS, finishing the house in Caledonia, and celebrating Kaydence’s birthday.

On Monday we began setting poles around the house in Caledonia. At the same time, several of the ladies worked on cataloging books for the libraries. Keely spent the day helping with VBS, while Natalie kept everyone going by preparing lunches.

Tuesday continued with more VBS activities. Kaydence spent time in Concepcion reading stories to the kids, which they loved. Lance also took Jorge to the airport as he headed back home to El Salvador. Later that day we made it back to Caledonia and were able to get about three quarters of the siding finished on the house.

Wednesday we attended a Penny Fair in Concepcion. The whole group came in, shared lunch together, and spent time with the community. Some of the ladies and men were able to go on farm tours as well. Unfortunately Keely became sick and had to sit out for the rest of the day.

Thursday was a big milestone as the house in Caledonia was officially finished. We also completed our immigration process, and Kaydence spent time helping organize and place books into the libraries.

Friday we wrapped up the final details on the house and held a dedication for the family. Keely was feeling better and enjoyed a free day at the pool with the other ladies. That evening we all gathered for a dinner together with the group.

Saturday we picked up mattresses, towels, and other necessities to help furnish the home for the family in Caledonia. We also had the opportunity to meet another mission group called the Belize Project.

Sunday we ended the week by celebrating Kaydence’s birthday with a special dinner and saying a final goodbye to Phil and Linda. I

t was a full week of serving, building, and connecting with the community, and we’re thankful for everything that was accomplished.
