Week Four Recap
This week we had plans. Build shelves, lay plantain leaves, and figure out Stand Creek. As usual, the Lord had other plans, and they were better.
We started by heading to Rafi’s house to unload and sort clothes that a mission group brought to be distributed to families in need. We were also thankful that the van arrived safely Monday night. Then, Natalie and the girls were invited to Momma Ellis’s house to help prepare a meal for a group coming in from New York. While they were there, Lance was able to unload the trailer from the van. That same day, Lance spent time at Jacob’s farm, while Natalie and the girls continued unloading the van and organizing everything where it needed to go.
On Wednesday, we took Adita to Orange Walk for her MRI, and later that day we were able to get some of the shelves built. Thursday had us back at Rafi and Desi’s house making tamales and building shelves inside a trailer to organize tools and work materials for upcoming mission teams. By Friday, we finished building shelves and got most of the remaining items from the van put away.
We were blessed to attend a mission group meet-and-greet for children receiving scholarships. It was such a joy to see the kids, their hard work, and their gratitude. We then had youth group, set up the gaga ball pit (which was a huge hit), and spent time studying the story of Sarah. We completed half of it and plan to finish next week.
We’re also praising God for answered prayers. Miguel and his family will be able to come to Corozal to see the doctors who are here, and we are hopeful they will receive the care they need.
This week reminded us again that when our plans change, God is still working, always for something greater.
