Summary
Melodia is a widow who underwent a leg amputation in March 2026. She currently lives alone in a very small tin home with an unfinished white marl floor, making it difficult and unsafe for her to move around using a wheelchair or other mobility aids.
She has one son and two daughters. The two daughters help when they are able, although they do not live with her full-time. A niece also assists her while the daughters are away. She is brought water from her brother’s home, as Melodia does not have running water or a bathroom. She currently relies on a bucket for her daily sanitation needs.

We are overjoyed to share an incredible update about Melodia!
After losing her leg in March 2026, Melodia faced many daily challenges while living in a small tin home without a bathroom or the accessibility she needed. Today, we praise God for the amazing transformation He has provided through the generosity of His people.
Corozal Belize Ministries graciously built Melodia a safe new home complete with a fully accessible handicap bathroom, giving her a place where she can live with greater comfort, safety, and dignity.
North Belize Medical Mission also came alongside Melodia by providing her with a brand-new wheelchair and a new set of crutches. In addition, their medical team conducted a health assessment and supplied her with much-needed medications to help care for her ongoing health needs.
These gifts have dramatically improved Melodia's quality of life and have been a powerful reminder that God sees His children and faithfully provides through the hands and hearts of others.
