We have met several families whose children are sleeping on the floor.

Rather than simply donating beds, we are creating a project that provides work for Belizean builders while meeting real needs in the community.

Through the Build a Bunk Bed Project, local Belizean workers build handmade wooden bunk beds. These beds are then placed in homes where children currently sleep on the floor.

This approach allows the project to:

• Create local jobs

• Use local skills and materials

• Help children sleep in a safe bed

• Build a system that can sustain itself
